Working visit of the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Maria Angelieva and Nevyana Miteva to the Sultanate of Oman

24 June 2024 News

On 24 June 2024, within the framework of their working visit to the Sultanate of Oman, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Maria Angelieva and Nevyana Miteva were received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who was presented with a written message from the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria — Mr. Dimitar Glavchev.

Within the framework of the talks, the two sides shared their readiness and willingness to continue their efforts to further build bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. In this context, special attention was paid to opportunities in the fields of energy, renewables, new technologies, culture and education.

Another important focus of the discussion was on the exchange of views on some topical issues on the regional and global agenda, important for both countries. The commitment of the Republic of Bulgaria to the international efforts to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace both in the Black Sea region and in the Middle East was reaffirmed. Central to the discussion on this issue was the contribution of both sides to the urgent alleviation of the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need to restore the political horizon for finding a lasting two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in line with the UNSC resolutions adopted so far.

It was agreed that the two sides would continue their consistent efforts to further intensify and expand contacts in all areas of shared interest.
