Bulgaria is expected to join the OECD by the end of 2025

02 May 2024 News

For the first time Bulgaria has a specific deadline for joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This is what Prime Minister Glavchev told journalists after his meeting with OECD Secretary General Matthias Korman. From the conversation of Prime Minister Glavchev with Secretary General Korman it became clear that the horizon for our country's accession is the end of next year 2025.  A total of 31 reports of the OECD committees on Bulgaria have been adopted, with 26 more to go.

Prime Minister Glavchev recalled that Bulgaria had long ago declared its desire to join the OECD. During their meeting today, the Prime Minister personally thanked OECD Secretary General Marias Korman for the active dialogue with our country during his mandate.

Asked about yesterday's cancellation of the decision of the Council of Ministers to establish a private hospital, Prime Minister Glavchev pointed out that the argument for the cancellation was the public tension that had been created, which he had taken into account.
