Mariya Gabriel: OSCE appreciates Bulgaria’s progress in the fight against human trafficking

During the largest diplomatic forum in Munich, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel underlined the role of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in the context of global security in a meeting with Secretary General Helga Schmid.
In the course of the discussion were the opportunities for expanding the cooperation between Bulgaria and the OSCE and addressing the security challenges in Europe. The importance of continued support for Ukraine and the need for greater attention to the Central Asian region was also highlighted.
Mariya Gabriel also mentioned the National Conference on Combating Human Trafficking held in January, with the aim of making it an annual event. OSCE appreciates Bulgaria’s progress in the fight against human trafficking.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked Helga Schmid for the invitation ‘our country to share its experience and good practices within the OSCE. Further fruitful meetings on these issues are forthcoming’, Mariya Gabriel said.
