‘Bulgaria shares the vision of the World Tourism Organization in promoting competitive and sustainable tourism policies as an engine of economic growth and environmental sustainability,’ Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov said at a meeting with World Tourism Organization (WTO) Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili.
The highlight of the meeting today was the election of our country as a member of the Executive Board of the World Tourism Organization for the term 2023—2027, a position that Bulgaria will hold for the fifth time. Secretary General Pololikashvili congratulated Minister Kondov on the success and assessed the interaction with the Organisation as fruitful.
The occasion of Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili's visit is the 68th Session of the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe, which takes place in Sofia between 31 May and 2 June 2023. Bulgaria is the vice-president of the UNWTO Regional Commission Europe and is hosting this session for the second time.
