Meeting with the Ambassador of North Macedonia to Bulgaria

A meeting was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between Ms Slavena Gergova, Director General for European Affairs, and the Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, Ms Agneza Rusi — Popovska.
On the part of Bulgaria was expressed concern about the attack on 14 June 2023 against Bekir Kadrijeski, who is co-chairperson of an association of Bulgarians in Struga — ‘Shemeto’ and stressed the need for the competent authorities in North Macedonia to take swift action to ensure an effective investigation and administration of justice in the case.
During the meeting it was pointed out that Bulgaria expects concrete results in other incidents involving Bulgarians and their associations in North Macedonia.
