Deputy Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev opened the training course "Economic Diplomacy", which is held at the MFA

On February 13, 2023, the training course "Economic Diplomacy", organized by the Diplomatic Institute of the MFA, was launched. The course was opened by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev, who congratulated the participants and stressed that economic diplomacy is playing an increasingly important role in the context of current events, becoming the main method and resource of diplomacy.

Mrs. Tanya Mihaylova, Director of the Diplomatic Institute, welcomed the participants and expressed her confidence that the interaction and improvement of communication between the different agencies is a key priority for the successful economic development of the country and the good positioning of Bulgaria in the complex economic and geopolitical environment.

Special guest speaker at the event was Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds Management Atanas Pekanov, who made an in-depth analysis of the development of the European Economic and Monetary Union and the many challenges Bulgaria faces under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The World Bank representative for Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Lasse Melgaard, also made a valuable contribution to the event. He presented the World Bank's activities, the opportunities for our country and stressed the importance of building sustainable governance.

The four-day course "Economic Diplomacy" involved 35 officials from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
