Deputy Minister Dimitrova received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Irena Dimitrova met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Siri Beate-Berry. The main topics of discussion were the strenghtening of bilateral relations, cooperation within NATO and within the framework of the EU-Kingdom Norway partnership.

"Bulgaria appreciates the effective cooperation and support under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism", said the Deputy Minister and expressed hope that the constructive cooperation between the countries will continue in the new framework period. Ambassador Berry reaffirmed the Norwegian side's desire to invest in projects in key areas that would serve to strengthen bilateral relations. Highlighted as priority areas are environmental protection, climate change, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and security, as well as social dialogue, local development, poverty reduction and inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Deputy Minister Dimitrova thanked for the support of the Kingdom of Norway for Bulgaria's membership in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Possibilities for exchange of expertise between the administrations of the two countries were discussed.

Other topics of discussion were the war in Ukraine and financial and humanitarian aid, the situation in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership, as well as the upcoming meeting of NATO allies in Madrid.
