Today, the Deputy Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria, Ms. Andrea Brouillette-Rodriguez. During the meeting, the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries was discussed, as well as issues in the field of multilateral cooperation in the region. Deputy Minister Petrova described the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States as excellent, emphasizing the readiness of the Bulgarian side to deepen the Bulgaria-US Strategic Dialogue.
Areas of mutual interest were outlined, including trade and economic cooperation and others.
Among the leading topics of the conversation was the process of Bulgaria's accession to the US Visa Waiver Program. "We want to consider and resolve all issues so that Bulgarian citizens can travel to the United States without a visa," said the Deputy Foreign Minister. For her part, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria, Ms. Brouillette-Rodriguez, expressed optimism that Bulgarian institutions are working actively and in the right direction.
Among the topics of conversation were also the development of the Three Seas Initiative, as well as the European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans.
