Deputy Minister Vasiliy Takev received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid bin Kamal Fakih

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasiliy Takev received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid bin Kamal Fakih.

The two discussed opportunities to deepen the established political dialogue, co-operate in the field of security, the fight against terrorism, as well as the development of economic and investment relations.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important partner of Bulgaria in the Middle East. We want to work together to build sustainable and multi-layered cooperation, covering key areas such as energy, investment, trade, education and the fight against terrorism", the Deputy Foreign Minister said.

The Bulgarian side highlighted the key geostrategic location of Bulgaria, which together with the developed infrastructure, the connection with the countries of Western Europe and the Black Sea access, give the opportunity to our Asian partners to reach the European markets. In the context of the Vision 2030 concept of the Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the development and modernization of Saudi Arabia, the possibility of Bulgarian companies to contribute to the realization of this vision was discussed.

The Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister wished success in the mission of the newly appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bulgaria. He thanked his predecessor, Mesfer al-Gassib, for his efforts over the past four years to deepen friendly relations between the two countries.
