Professor Dr. Ingrid Shikova received the annual honorary award of the Diplomatic Institute

The Diplomatic Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented its annual honorary award "DOCENDO DISCIMUS" 2020 for significant contribution to the development of the Institute to Prof. Dr. Ingrid Shikova.
During the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Rumen Alexandrov greeted Professor Shikova on behalf of the Ministry. The award was given by the Director of the Institute Tanya Mihaylova.
Professor Shikova is one of the founders of the programme "European Studies" at Sofia University and a member of the National Advisory Council at the Diplomatic Institute. For years Prof. Shikova has participated as a lecturer in a number of qualification formats of the DI related to the European agenda. She has a significant contribution to the educational activities of the institute, as well as to its promotion among the student community. The Institute has partnered with Prof. Shikova in a number of projects. An example of this is the successful cooperation in the implementation of the first of its kind "National Archive of Memories of the Process of Bulgaria's Accession to the EU" with its "Jean Monnet" Centre of Excellence.
Prior to the award ceremony, the current trainee attachés at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “Stoyan Petrov-Chomakov” and students from the Department of European Studies at Sofia University had the pleasure to participate in a discussion with Prof. Shikova on the future of the European Union, the circular economy and the Green Pact, as well as on the prospects for European integration.
