The Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined the initiative of the Directorate General for the Fight against Organised Crime and the National Commission for Combating Human Trafficking with the financial support of EMPACT to launch a campaign to prevent human trafficking focusing on sexual exploitation. #BlindBetting is mounted by an entirely Bulgarian team and is held under the title "Don't Risk Your Destiny". The aim is to draw the attention of the public and risk groups to the methods of involvement in criminal trafficking networks, as well as to the identification and support of victims of sexual exploitation.
The campaign will spread to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
More than 20 governmental and non-governmental organisations in Bulgaria are participating in the campaign, including ministries, agencies, directorates, and representatives of the private sector. With their help, the circle of socially engaged businesses and institutions will be expanded with a view to the multidisciplinary and comprehensive counteraction to the crime of human trafficking.
