The Republic of North Macedonia notifies the UN member states, including Bulgaria, of its new name
15 February 2019 NewsThe Republic of North Macedonia has notified the UN member states and the countries with observer status in the world organization of its new constitutional name. It becomes effective automatically as a result of the signing and ratification of the Prespa Accord.
This official notification renders invalid and terminates the use of the names ‘Macedonia’, ‘Republic of Macedonia’, ‘Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia’ as well as the acronym FYROM.
