Minister Zaharieva Meets European Public Law Organisation Chairperson

17 October 2018 News

“I want to thank Bulgaria for its support for the European Public Law Organisation (EPLO) in acquiring UN observer status. We value highly your assistance and will always remain at your disposal if you need our help,” Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, President of EPLO’s Board of Directors said at a meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva.

“We are firm and consistent in our support and you can rely on it in the future. As you know, Bulgaria was elected member of the Human Rights Council (HRC) for 2019-2021 and a Bulgarian representative became a member of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. We will do everything within our powers to assist you in the future,” Minister Zaharieva said.

Prof. Flogaitis extended an official invitation to Minister Zaharieva to take the seat on the Organisation’s Board that is due to our country as a member. “Your activeness and good international contacts will be of great benefit to the EPLO,” he said. According to Prof. Flogaitis, the Organisation can also assist Bulgaria in its efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity, by providing expertise, and through its studies on international public law.

Minister Zaharieva expressed appreciation for the invitation and emphasised Bulgaria’s determination to cooperate and to maintain active contacts with the EPLO.
