Reception marking Bulgaria’s National Day in Vienna

The National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria was marked with a reception in the Bulgarian Embassy building in Vienna on March 6th. The event was attended by more than 300 official guests: Austrian diplomats, politicians and members of parliament; heads of diplomatic missions: embassies and permanent missions of the countries accredited to Austria; members of the Bulgarian community and representatives of the Austrian media.
The festive occasion was honored by the presence of Reinhart Tod, President of the Federal Council; Alice Alsch-Harant, Vice President of the Federal Council; Anneliese Kitzmüller, Third President of the Federal Council; Herman Breukel, the Chairman of the Austria-Bulgaria Friendship Group of the Austrian Parliament; Karoline Edtstadler, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Interior; Erwin Proel, Prime Minister of the province of Lower Austria; Jörg Wojahn, Head of the European Commission's Representation in Austria; Michael Spindelegger, the former Director General of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (2008-2013).
