The use of force against the Syrian people must stop immediately

“There is increasing information about the growing violence in Syria in recent days and hours. This is unacceptable, and we strongly condemn all the actions that have led to the deaths of hundreds of people, including many children.
“We urge the Syrian authorities to immediately cease hostilities against their own citizens. We believe that the desire of the Syrian society for freedom and democracy is fully legitimate and irrevocable. Transition in Syria is inevitable and can be achieved on the basis of the Arab League plan.
“The country needs a truly democratic and representative government, trusted the Syrian people. Bulgaria supports the efforts of the international community to adopt a special UN Security Council resolution, containing a clear assessment of what is happening, but with a strong commitment by the international organization to stop the violence in Syria.”
