Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva congratulated the newly elected Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia

01 June 2017 News
Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva held a phone conversation with the newly elected Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov to congratulate him personally and to invite him to visit Bulgaria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria welcomes the formation of a government of the Republic of Macedonia as a long-awaited and important step towards the normalization of the political climate in the country.

We believe that the new government will start working on the implementation of all the necessary reforms in order to bring the country back to its European track. We call on all political parties and institutions in the Republic of Macedonia to genuinely support this process in line with the commitments under the Przhino agreement.

Stressing the importance of strengthening good-neighborly relations, a key element also from Przhino, the Ministry expresses confidence that concrete results in this regard will bring the country closer to opening accession negotiations.
