Meeting at the MFA with the Ambassador of the DPRK to Bulgaria

On March 10, 2017 a meeting on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2321/2016 new comprehensive sanctions against North Korea was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Bulgaria’s position condemning the launch of four ballistic missiles by the DPRK on March 6, 2017 in direct violation of a number of UN Security Council resolutions was reiterated at this meeting. MoFA’s previous statement in response to the ballistic missile launch on February 12, 2017 was recalled and concern was expressed with regards to the latest test. The DPRK was called upon to take into account the gravity of the situation, to abandon its ballistic missile testing and to comply strictly with its international obligations as a prerequisite for resuming dialogue with the international community and reducing tension on the Korean Peninsula.
