The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Daniel Mitov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Sofia Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rordiguez signed an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Cuba on reciprocal gratuitous allocation for use of immovable properties for the needs of the two countries’ diplomatic missions.

The signing settles the matter of the two countries’ diplomatic missions in the long term. The agreement is valid for 10 years, with an option for automatic renewal.

“This agreement signifies the fine cooperation between Bulgaria and Cuba and yet another opportunity to carry on our constructive partnership in the future,” Minister Daniel Mitov said at the signing ceremony. He thanked the Ministry staff who worked for finalising the agreement conclusion process.

Ambassador San Jorge also expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Agreement as well as gratitude for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria for its implementation. According to him, this is a step that will motivate the two countries to persist in their efforts for strengthening the bilateral relations, including within the context of the opportunities provided for this by the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and Cuba, signed in December 2016.
