Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the terrorist attack in Nice

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria expresses its deepest condolences to the French people and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice, which killed at least 84 people and wounded dozens of innocent civilians.
We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the latest terrorist attack in France. Our thoughts are with the people of France and the families of the innocent victims.
At the anniversary of the French Revolution that gave the whole of Europe the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity, we are once again facing obscurantism. The free citizens of Europe will not be defeated by the barbaric acts of terrorism. Our common history proves that the Enlightenment sooner or later prevails over the darkness of ignorance.
In these difficult times we stand together in solidarity with the people of France and we express our deepest sympathy and friendship.
