Meeting of Minister Daniel Mitov with the Ambassador of China

The cooperation between Sofia and Beijing in international organizations was at the focus of today’s meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Bulgaria Wei Jinghua.

Minister Mitov and the Chinese ambassador also discussed the positions of Bulgaria and China on various issues on the bilateral and international agenda in the light of the forthcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Ambassador Wei Jinghua focused on the excellent relations and close cooperation between Bulgaria and China within international organizations and expressed hope that the dialogue between the two foreign ministries, including on issues on the UN agenda, will be strengthened.

Minister Mitov underscored the priority place of China in Bulgaria’s foreign policy and expressed hope for continuing the intensive political dialogue, deepening the business contacts and discussing joint projects in the future.

On his part, Ambassador Wei Jinghua confirmed the invitation to our country to participate in the Fourth Meeting of Heads of Government of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEE), which will be held in Beijing at the end of the year. Minister Mitov said that our country will continue its high-level participation in various forums under the 16 +1. Cooperation Initiative.
