32nd Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States

The 32nd meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member states of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) took place on 18 June in Chișinău. Representatives of the member states, the specialized BSEC agencies, the observer states and organizations, sector partners and other guests participated in the final meeting under the Moldovan Chairmanship-in-Office of BSEC (1 January 2015 – 30 June 2015).

Bulgaria was represented by Andrey Tehov, Director General of European Affairs General Directorate. In his statement he focused on the importance of the organization for the consolidation of the trust, stability and security in the region. Andrey Tehov also emphasized on the policy of continuity in the work of BSEC and the more active interaction with other international organizations, including the EU, by underlining the importance of the projects with regional scope in the field of transport and economic cooperation.

The agenda of the meeting included an overview of the condition of the cooperation within BSEC and the adoption of resolutions, decisions and recommendations, related to varied aspects of the organization’s work, such as the improvement of the efficiency of BSEC, financial issues, the approval of coordinating members of the BSEC working groups, as well as new sector partners of the organization, overview of the interaction between BSEC and the EU.

A ceremony of handing over the Chairmanship-in-Office from Moldova to Romania, which will represent the organization from 1 July 2015 to 31 December 2015, was held at the end of the meeting.
