Minister Kristian Vigenin to participate in the 11th ASEM Foreign Ministers Meeting
11 November 2013 - 12 November 2013 Diplomatic CalendarMinister Kristian Vigenin will participate in the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) at Foreign Ministers level. This year the forum , held in Gurgaon, India on 11 - 12 November 2013, is with the theme “ASEM: Bridge to Partnership for Growth and Development. “
During the Asia- Europe meeting, the Foreign Ministers will discuss current economic and financial issues, the nontraditional security challenges, the achievements of ASEM in the last 17 years and its future orientation, as well as other topics of regional and global character. The forum aims to intensify the efforts of the ASEM members to achieve greater synergy in the three dimensions of the initiative, namely, political dialogue, economic collaboration, and socio-economic cooperation.
Minister Kristian Vigenin will make a statement during the second plenary session of the forum on November 11. During his visit to India , the Bulgarian Foreign Minister will hold talks with his counterparts from the Asian partner countries . On November 12 Kristian Vigenin will attend a working dinner where he will meet with representatives of the Indian business and friends of Bulgaria.
Within the ASEM format, before the official Foreign Ministers Meeting , a meeting of the senior officials will take place. There Bulgaria will be represented at level Director of “America, Asia, Australia and Oceania” Directorate at the MFA .
