Deputy Minister Christo Polendakov participates in the closing meeting of the Georgian Chairmanship of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

On June 15, 2026, the closing meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was held online, officially marking the end of the Georgian Chairmanship of the Organization.
Mr. Christo Polendakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the meeting from the Bulgarian side, who, in his address, highlighted the role of the BSEC as an effective model for multilateral economic cooperation and an important forum for promoting dialogue and good neighborly relations in the Black Sea region. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation with the European Union and the implementation of projects of regional importance.
Deputy Minister Polendakov expressed appreciation for Georgia's efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Member States and for progress achieved in advancing the Organization's common priorities. He also expressed his gratitude to the BSEC member states and to the BSEC General Secretary, Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, for the support and constructive cooperation and wished success to Greece, which will assume the rotating presidency of the Organization from July 1, 2026, emphasizing that through joint efforts, the Black Sea region can continue to establish itself as a space of peace, stability and economic development.
