7th MEETING OF THE SEE2030 STRATEGY MONITORING COMMITTEE

07 May 2026 Events and Discussions

On 5 May 2026, in Sofia, within the framework of the Sofia Chairmanship‑in‑Office of the South‑East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), the Seventh Meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the South East Europe 2030 Strategy was held. The theme of the meeting was “Public‑Private Partnerships as a Catalyst for SDGs Implementation towards Resilience and Inclusive Growth in South East Europe.”

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Ivaylo Iordanov, Head of the Regional Cooperation Department, Southeast Europe Directorate, noted that since the Committee’s previous meeting in 2024, continued progress has been achieved across a number of initiatives. He emphasized that since the launch of the Strategy in 2021, it has established a strong and ambitious framework for regional cooperation. As a result, significant progress has been made in identifying priority areas for action, building networks, and initiating key processes under the three main pillars of the SEE 2030 Strategy – prosperity, people, peace and partnerships.

In his address to the attending delegations, Mr. Umut Ergezer, Deputy Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), in his capacity as co‑organizer of the event, highlighted the excellent synergy between the SEECP and the RCC in implementing the priorities of the SEE 2030 Strategy, as well as the RCC’s role in promoting a more active and results‑oriented regional approach.

The discussion focused on the role of public‑private partnerships in advancing the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting was attended by the National Coordinators and delegations from the 13 Participants in the SEECP.
