14 April 2026 Events and DiscussionsOn 8 April 2026, the Third Meeting of the Political Directors of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) took place in Sofia, within the framework of the Sofia Chairmanship‑in‑Office.
In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Momchil Raychevski, Director of the South-East Europe Directorate, underlined that since the beginning of the Chairmanship-in-Office, Sofia has been working consistently and with determination towards achieving the common goals of strengthening dialogue, building trust, and promoting genuine convergence among all participants in the Process. He emphasized that, in the context of the current complex geopolitical environment, the region must remain united, uphold European values, and work towards concrete and practical results.
The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) delivered a presentation entitled “Developing Future-Oriented Program Priorities in Line with the RCC’s Strategy and Work Programme,” aimed at raising awareness of the untapped potential of regional cooperation in Southeast Europe and identifying measures to address this shortfall.
During the second part of the meeting, the discussions on the draft text of the Sofia SEECP Summit Declaration has started. The Declaration will be endorsed by the SEECP Heads of State and Government on 10 June 2026 in Sofia.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ivaylo Iordanov, Head of the Regional Cooperation Department of the South-East Europe Directorate, Ms. Rositsa Stoeva, Ambassador-at-Large, as well as other staff members of the Regional Cooperation Department.
