Ballet dancer and IT specialist
My name is Gabriel Slaven and I’m 23 years old. I was born and raised in Geelong, Australia. At 18 I decided to go and work in Sofia, Bulgaria, as a ballet dancer at the National Sofia Opera and Ballet.
I studied and trained ballet from a young age in Australia, and I finished my dance education at NUTI (National School of Dance Art) in Sofia. I then worked at the National Opera for 3 years performing in many ballets such as Swan Lake, Gisselle, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Carmina Burana, and many more. I was proud to be contributing to the arts and culture for Bulgaria.
I now work for IT and software company Zoiper in Sofia with Bulgarians and colleagues from all over the world to develop and grow technology of the future.
On 11 November 2021 I got married to the love of my life. My wife is Bulgarian and she continues to teach me about the amazing Bulgarian culture and traditions. We travel all over Bulgaria to see the many beautiful sights and nature. Bulgaria feels like my second home.
