Ambassador Plamen Georgiev co-authored an article in the major Canadian newspaper "Hill Times" together with the ambassadors of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia in Ottawa on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the accession of these countries to NATO.

On March 25, 2024 a panel discussion "Two years in. Analyzing the Regional implications of the Russian War in Ukraine” was launched by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa. The academic meeting was organized by the Head of the University's Institute Mrs. Crina Viju-Miljusevic, PhD., Director and Associate Professor, Jean Monnet Chair EU External Relations.

On November 21, 2023, the premiere screening of the Bulgarian film "Mother" took place in the Canadian capital at the Ottawa Art Gallery

The multi-awarded film, which has also been Bulgaria's proposal for the Academy awards, was chosen among the many Bulgarian films to represent our country during the EU Film Festival in Canada in 2023. On November 21, 2023, the premiere screening of the Bulgarian film "Mother" took place in the Canadian capital at the Ottawa Art Gallery.

Festive anniversary concert in Montreal, awarding Mr. Tsonko Stoyanov, head of Ensemble "Bulgari", and honoring the Folk Dance Club "Trakiya"

On October 28, 2023, in Montreal, Quebec, a festive performance was held to mark the 60th anniversary of Mr. Tsonko Stoyanov and the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Folk Dance Club "Trakiya". Mr. Stoyanov is the founder and chief choreographer of the “Bulgari” folk ensemble and one of the founders of the “Trakiya” Club. The concert was entitled "Let's preserve the traditions" and aimed at popularizing our cultural heritage and preserving the original Bulgarian traditions among our compatriots abroad.

On October 11, 2023, a working meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ottawa with the participation of Ambassador Plamen Georgiev, the Director General of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) Mr. Kiril Valchev, the Chairman of the Bulgarian Community in the Ottawa-Gatineau Capital Region Ms. Stella Kostova and the Head of the political office of the Bulgarian Embassy in Ottawa, Mr. Nikolay Nikolov.
