Тhe Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York hosted an event organized by the Bulgarian Angels Club on the topic of the development of the Bulgarian startup ecosystem and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of implementing a large-scale project, coordinated in advance with all responsible institutions in Bulgaria and the EU, including the implementation and launch of a new version of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).

Hristo Balarev, an eighth grader at Paisii Hilendarski Mathematical High School in Sofia, won a gold medal in mathematics at the Copernicus Olympiad, the final round of which takes place in New York between July 15 and 18. The award ceremony took place on July 18, 2024 in the Columbia University.

The central role was played by the world-famous musicians Bela Hristova (violin), Lora Chekoratova (piano) and Anna Stoycheva (piano). The Consul General in New York, Angel Angelov, together with the founders of the American Foundation for Bulgaria (Diko Mihov and Ted Vassilev) were recognized by the Initiative for their contribution to Bulgarian culture and art and received honorary plaques.

The traditionally active cooperation of the Consulate General in New York with American Jewish organizations and with the Consulate General of Israel in New York continued after the series of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during the Holocaust.

On May 10 and 11, 2024, the Consul General of Bulgaria in New York, Angel Angelov, took part in a series of meetings and events with the Bulgarian community in and around Boston, related to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Sunday school "St. St. Cyril and Methodius".

On April 17, 2024, at the Consulate General in New York, the documentary "Vaklush" directed by Nikolay Vassilev was broadcast.

A fashion show of clothes with folk motifs, designed by Maya Nedelcheva, took place at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York on April 9, 20224. The collection was presented by "Gorana dance" and representatives of our community, who participated in the review.

On Sunday, April 7, 2024, for the tenth year in a row, the first-grade students from the Bulgarian school and choir "Gergana" in New York celebrated the “Holiday of Letters”.

On April 5, 2024, the children from the theater school "The Temple of Melpomena" - Cyprus, with director Monica Meleki and assistant director Tsvetana Papastavrou, delighted the Bulgarian community in New York with a wonderful performance of the play "The Tale of the оther Shepherd" by Stefan Tzanev.
