Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva talks with Poland's government plenipotentiary for the Three Seas Initiative, Pavel Jablonski. Bulgaria took over from Estonia the coordinating role of the Three Seas Initiative in October 2020.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs‘ meeting is to take place on 9 of November 2020 as part of the 2020 Berlin Process for the Western Balkans’ first Joint Chairmanship of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia.

On June 26 this year A ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw to honor Ambassador Emil Yalnazov with the high Polish state award - the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit. A decree of President A. Duda was read, with which the ambassador was awarded the Order for his contribution to the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Poland and Bulgaria.

On June 19 2020 а meeting of Ambassador Emil Yalnazov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland on the occasion of the end of the term of office of the Ambassador in Warsaw.

On June 9 this year Ambassador Emil Jałnazow met with Senate President Tomasz Grodzki in the Polish Senate in connection with the end of the Ambassador's term. Issues of bilateral relations and co-operation between the two countries' parliaments were discussed during the talks. Marshal Tomasz Grodzki praised the excellent state of Polish-Bulgarian relations and the established high-level political cooperation and dialogue, based on the membership of both countries in NATO and the EU. Trade and economic cooperation, tourism and human contacts have risen in recent years, retaining their potential for development after the pandemic.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Petko Doуkov participated in the B-9 Ministerial Meeting (Bucharest Nine), which was held on March 10, 2020 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The meeting focused on the implementation of decisions contributing to the collective defense of NATO's eastern flank, and included an exchange of views on Russia, China, 5G information technology and security, NATO's role in the fight against terrorism and energy security.

On the occasion of the National Day - March 3, our Embassy in Warsaw, in cooperation with the BCI, is organizing a gala concert at the Representative Hall "Column" of the University of Warsaw, with the special participation of the "Intro" formation at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts / AMTI / in Plovdiv.

During her working visit to Warsaw, the Minister of Tourism spoke with the chairman of the Polish Tourism Organization, Dr. Robert Andrzejczyk, and discussed the possibilities for developing further cooperation in this field. Bulgaria intends to open a national tourist office in Poland at our embassy in Warsaw. So far our country has two such representations abroad - in Germany and in Russia.

On February 17, 2020, in Vilnius, the official opening of the new Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria took place, with Honorary Consul Mr. Laurinas Jonusauskas and with the Consular District - the territory of the Republic of Lithuania.

As from 1 March 2020, road vehicles with a total technically permissible maximum weight exceeding 3,5 tonnes circulating on paid road sections in Bulgaria will have to pay for their use distance-based road charges – toll. The toll replaces the electronic vignette for heavy vehicles and buses.
