On 30 May 2023, Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office organized a meeting between Ambassador (Ms.) Wu Xi, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of MFA of China and 25 Consuls General in Shanghai, including the Consul General of Bulgaria Vladislav Spasov. The Deputy Director-General of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office Mr. Bei Zhaojian moderated the meeting.

In her opening remarks Ms. Wu Xi mentioned that Shanghai is an international city connecting China with all other countries in the world. Shanghai is the most open, dynamic and innovative Chinese city, an example of the modernization of the whole country.

During the meeting Ms. Wu Xi and Consuls General discussed ways for enhancement of consular cooperation, facilitation of secure and convenient people-to-people exchanges, future interactions on the basis of already accumulated experience and sharing of good practices in consular services, as well as promotion of bilateral visits.
