Vladislav Spasov is a career diplomat with professional experience both in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sofia and in the missions of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad. He holds a Master’s degree in History from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
Since 2000 he has been a member of the diplomatic service in the MFA respectively at the Foreign Policy Analyses and Planning Directorate and Asia, Australia and Oceania Directorate and at different times served as desk officer for Afghanistan, Iran, DPRK, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, as well as head of South and South-East Asia Department (2015-2016).
His foreign assignments include the Embassy of Bulgaria in Seoul, Republic of Korea (2005-2008) – third secretary; New Delhi, India (2011-2014) – first secretary and Beijing, the People’s Republic of China (2016-2020) – counsellor.
Fluent in English and Russian.
Married, with two daughters.
