Meetings with the Bulgarian Community and a Consular Day in Boston

The Consul General in New York Mr. Angel Angelov was on a two-day visit to Boston for meetings with the Bulgarian community there. Special attention was paid to the Bulgarian Cultural Center in New England and, in particular, to the Bulgarian School "St. Cyril and Methodius" Boston.

During the visit, the Consul General got acquainted with the learning process in all classes, held talks with the school management, teachers and parents and delivered a lecture to the older students, incl. those who attended online, about the functions and activities of the Consul General, and gladly accepted the invitation to have dinner with community representatives. Working meetings were held with the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Boston Adam Portnoy, the president of the Bulgarian school in Boston Rosen Dimitrov, the priest of the St. Petka Orthodox Church Rumen Pelovski and with the president of the Bulgarian Center in New England attorney David Flashenberg.

During the visit a number of topics were discussed, incl. good practices in the educational process abroad, challenges, needs, etc. Opportunities for enhancing the partnership between the Bulgarian community and the Consulate General were discussed.

A consular day was also held, during which Consul Lyubomira Georgieva provided consular services to more than 30 families.
