On 16 February 2023 the Consul General Vladislav Spasov met the Vice President of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Ms. Jing Ying.

 They discussed the opportunities for further development of the cooperation between the Consulate General and the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries including promotion of bilateral trade, tourism and culture exchanges and Bulgarian participation in China International Import Expo and other important exhibitions and conferences organized in Shanghai.  

Founded on September 13, 1956, Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is one of the first local branches of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). Bulgarian institutions established relations with CPAFFC on September 30, 1958. Today, Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries continues its work to develop relations between Shanghai and foreign countries in political, economic, cultural, educational, science and technology, healthcare and environmental protection areas, as well as in facilitating exchanges between youth and women organizations.
