The Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York hosted an international cultural event in which famous theater directors and playwrights from Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine and the USA took part, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian community involved in the theater art.

This was the first ever international meeting of theater directors and playwrights organized by "The Drama League" taking place in the Bulgarian diplomatic mission. The latter is one of the most influential theater organizations in the United States and it is dedicated to promoting international cooperation in the field of culture and art. The League actively cooperates with representatives of the Bulgarian theater.

The guests were welcomed by the Consul General Angel Angelov and by the President of the League Gabriel Shanks. In an informal atmosphere they discussed various aspects of their work and made professional contacts.

The Bulgarian participation included Kalina Wagenstein, Maxima Boeva, Stefan Prokhorov, who came to New York especially for the meeting, as well as Eva Volitzer, Milena Deleva, Gina DiDonato, Hristo Bakalov and others working in New York.
