On August 5, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Finland Nina Simova met with the President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö at the summer residence Kultaranta, Naantali.

The meeting was mainly of a protocol nature and took place after Ambassador Simova's credentials were delivered by mail due to the spread of Covid-19.

During the conversation, the bilateral relations between the two countries, the forthcoming NATO membership of Finland, the war in Ukraine, the help and support provided by Bulgaria and Finland were briefly discussed. President Niinisto showed interest and was informed about the internal political situation in Bulgaria and the progress of the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in October.

To President Sauli  Niinisto was once again invited on behalf of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev to visit Bulgaria.
