On 22 August 2022 the Consul General Vladislav Spasov received at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai Prof. Che Shengquan, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Prof. Chen Ke, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office of SJTU and other Chinese officers dealing with international exchange of the SJTU also participated in the meeting. Previous and current activities of the Bulgarian Center at SJTU were discussed and both sides expressed their willingness to develop new bilateral initiatives in accordance with the existing measures for prevention and control of Covid-19 in China. 

The Bulgarian Center at SJTU was established in 2016. It facilitates cooperation between SJTU from Chinese side and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Institute of Agricultural Economics at the Agricultural Academy, The Agricultural University – Plovdiv and The University of National and World Economy, from Bulgarian side. The topics of bilateral projects implemented till now include: Climate change and industry development, Land remote sensing and ecological restoration, Agricultural production and process management, Socio-economic development, etc.
