On 30 December 2021 the Consul General Vladislav Spasov met Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Academic Affairs Council of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). They discussed Bulgaria-China relations, the Initiative for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries and other topical international issues.

Founded in 1960, the SIIS is a government-affiliated think tank dedicated to strategic studies and policy analyses in the field of international relations, economics, international security, etc. SIIS maintains intensive exchanges and cooperation with research institutions all over the world, incl. the Diplomatic Institute at the MFA of Bulgaria.
