Ambassador Gergana Karadjova Reaffirmed Bulgaria’s Commitment to International Humanitarian Law and the Protection of Civilians

At a United Nations Security Council meeting held under the Arria-formula, Ambassador Gergana Karadjova reaffirmed Bulgaria’s unwavering commitment to the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law. Bulgaria called for the protection of civilians, children and humanitarian personnel, unimpeded humanitarian access, and accountability for serious violations of international law.
Bulgaria reaffirmed its support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Bulgaria also underscored the need for full compliance with international humanitarian law in the Middle East and reaffirmed its commitment to a negotiated two-state solution.
