Bulgaria presented its 6th and 7th periodic reports under the Convention on the Rights of the Child to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child on 17 and 18 January 2024 in Geneva.

On 5 December, the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria to the UN in Geneva co-organized, together with the missions of Luxembourg and Armenia, an event at the Palais des Nations on the theme "Strengthening the right to free education: from pre-school to secondary education".

Bulgaria took part in the annual United Nations Women's Guild Annual Charity Bazaar in support of disadvantaged children and women

On 15 November at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva held an evening dedicated to the World Children's Day and the centenary of the Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child, as well as on the occasion of the election of our country as a member of the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2024-2026, with the participation of the world-famous opera soprano and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Bulgaria, Sonya Yoncheva.

The concert, organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN and other International Organisations in Geneva with the cooperation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Parish “Nativity of the Blessed Virgin”, the “Concordia for Music and Art” Association and the Bulgarian-Swiss Association for Culture, Traditions and Education “Kanatitza”, took place on September 23, 2023 at Espace "Madeleine" in Geneva.

On 12 September 2023, at a ceremony, held during the Eleventh Annual Meeting of the Member States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions, the Head of the Bulgarian delegation ambassador Yuri Sterk, Permanent representative to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, handed over to the President of the Meeting the document (Declaration of completion), which certifies that the process of destruction of the Cold War cluster munitions stockpiles, has been completed.

On June 16, 2023, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Yuri Sterk, received the newly appointed Permanent Observer of the International Organization of La Francophonie /IOF/ to the UN Office in Geneva, Henri Monceau.
