On October 4, 2011 the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Israel, H.E. Mr. Yuri Sterk, visited the city of Haifa at the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haifa and the North.

Ambassador Sterk, accompanied by Trade and Economic Counselor Vladimir Velkov, met with President Gad Shaefer and other senior members of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Haifa, visited Haifa city council, where he met with Mayor Yona Yahav, and toured the port of Haifa - the largest commercial port in Israel.

During the visit Ambassador Yuri Sterk discussed with his counterparts opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Israel, the prospects for expansion of investments in Bulgaria by member companies of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haifa, and strengthening  partnerships between the Haifa Municipality and interested municipalities in Bulgaria.
