About us
Dear Bulgarian Compatriots,
Dear Friends of Bulgaria,
It is my pleasure and honor to welcome you to the official page of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Dublin.
In 2024 the Embassy in Dublin celebrated 20 years of its existence. Since its establishment the Bulgarian Embassy has made continuous efforts to develop bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Ireland and actively promote the cultural and historical heritage, as well as contemporary achievements of Bulgaria. Over the past twenty years, the protection of the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens and the preservation of their Bulgarian identity, culture, language, and traditions have been and continue to be a leading priority in the work of our diplomatic mission.
Despite the geographical distance, Bulgaria and Ireland possess considerable and untapped potential for intensive bilateral cooperation in various areas – political, economic and business cooperation, tourism, and culture. Traditional relations of friendship and trust between our countries, shared positions on many important European and international issues, as well as the historical connections and people-to-people contacts create a solid foundation for deepening our interaction and expanding new areas of cooperation, including in the fields of innovations, communication technologies, science and education, women’s empowerment, etc.
The Bulgarian community in Ireland has earned a reputation of a community of hardworking and intelligent people, contributing to the development of Ireland. By preserving and spreading their culture and traditions, Bulgarians contribute to the cultural diversity of the European Union. Special acknowledgment deserve the Bulgarian schools, associations and creative individuals that keep alive the Bulgarian spirit and cultural values.
On the page of the Bulgarian Embassy in Dublin you can find up-to-date information about Bulgaria, bilateral relations with Ireland and Embassy’s events. We are open to discussing creative ideas and proposals in order to unite our efforts in promoting the image of Bulgaria, that has a lot to be proud of, including of its young, talented, and educated citizens worldwide.
Sincerely yours,
Vanya Andreeva-Malakova
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ireland
