Meeting of Ambassador Plamen Georgiev with the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Society of the Ottawa-Gatineau Metropolitan Region.

On December 6, 2025 the Bulgarian Ambassador to Canada H.E. Plamen Georgiev met with the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Community of the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau).
The meeting was attended by the Board members Mr. Anton Minkov (Chairman), Mrs. Stella Kostova (former Chairman), Mrs. Vanina Zaharieva (Deputy Chairman), Mrs. Daniela Yoveva, Ms. Elena Aminkova, Mr. Radomir Todorov and Ms. Romina Chencheva (Board members). On behalf of the Embassy the meeting was attended by Ms. Lyubomira Georgieva, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, and Ms. Elka Doncheva, Head of Consular Office.
Ambassador Georgiev expressed high appreciation by the accomplishments of the Bulgarian Community aimed at preserving the Bulgarian culture and traditions in Canada and expressed hope that the joint efforts for promoting Bulgaria among the Canadian public and maintaining the positive image of our country in Canada will continue in the future as well.
The meeting was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas regarding the collaboration between the Embassy and the Bulgarian community in the Ottawa capital region and for mapping specific joint projects for the upcoming 2026.
