On the eve of the Day of the Awakenings, we were surprised by a wonderful patriotic lesson at our school in Adelaide. The older students introduced the younger ones to a unique Bulgarian holiday dedicated to revolutionaries, writers, teachers and church activists. Under the guidance of their teachers, the children, thousands of miles away from the Motherland, had the chance to appreciate their ancestor’s work and achievements.

The management of the school agreed to participate in a Quiz dedicated to the Day of the Awakenings, in which children could show their knowledge and what they had previously learned in class. The little sweethearts showed their skills on the board, and later they gave wonderful artworks that we will place in the Embassy building. Another touching gift was also given. We received a unique calendar dedicated to our alphabet, created by the wonderful children, who had been taught in a patriotic spirit by their teachers.
