26 March 2026 NewsThe President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, has appointed Ambassador Gergana Karadjova as co-facilitator of the intergovernmental process on the modalities for the review of the outcome document of the Second High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation.
Together with the Permanent Representative of Bulgaria, the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Ambassador Lukman Abdulrahim Al-Faily, will also serve as co-facilitator. The appointment of the two ambassadors by the President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, has been made in accordance with General Assembly resolution 80/156.
The High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation is an international meeting at the highest political level, organized by the United Nations and dedicated to cooperation among developing countries. These conferences are attended primarily by heads of state and government, ministers, and senior United Nations officials.
