News - USA, Washington, Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria

On October 23rd, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Washington, D.C. took part in the annual United Nations Day celebration, organized by the Oneness-Family School in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

For the past 38 years ambassadors and diplomats from embassies in Washington, DC have joined the ceremony by carrying their national flags in a procession of nations. Over 80 embassies usually participate in the celebration. As they present their country’s flag, the diplomats greet the audience with “Good morning, everyone!” in their native language.  This acts as an inspiration for the students to learn about the different cultures of the world. Oneness-Family School itself represents about 70 nationalities.

Oneness-Family School is international in scope and celebrates the world as one family. Through the annual flag ceremony, the school promotes the universal values of kindness, understanding and respect for all people regardless of race, religion or political beliefs, while encouraging students to develop a deeper appreciation of the world’s cultural diversity.
