Presentation of the Implementation of Bulgaria’s EU Presidency Priorities - Belfast

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Konstantin Dimitrov, visited Belfast on June 13-14 where he conducted meetings with representatives of the Northern Ireland executive and legislative branches, with the Bulgarian honorary consul and representatives of the Bulgarian community. The Ambassador presented the implementation of the core priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

He held one-to-one meetings with Dr Andrew McCormick, Director General for International Relations at the Northern Ireland Executive Office, and with Mr Robin Newton, speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly. He also discussed the opportunities for intensifying the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Northern Ireland at InvestNI. The Ambassador met with representatives of all political parties, represented in the Northern Ireland Assembly, discussed the state of devolution with Mr Neill Jackson of the Executive Office, and also attended a conference meeting, hosted by Graeme McCammon, Chief Executive NI-CO, where the Bulgarian Honorary Consulate is located. There, the Ambassador and the honorary consul, Mr Paul Martin, met with representatives of NI-CO and with the leaders of the two Bulgarian associations in Norther Ireland.
