Bulgarian Arabists from Sofia University Participate in Prestigious International Forum in Sharjah
Prof. Simeon Evstatiev, Head of the Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, and Associate Professor Galina Evstatieva, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology, took part in the 3rd International Conference on Arabic Studies in Europe (Sharjah, 8–9 November 2025).
The conference was organized by the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah under the personal patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council of the UAE. At his invitation, on 8 and 9 November 2025 the Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi Center hosted 24 scholars from 18 European countries specializing in Arabic language, Middle Eastern history, and culture.

European Day of Languages in Abu Dhabi
Ambassador Ivan Jordanov and the Bulgarian Language Program “Kambana” were delighted to participate in the European Day of Languages 2025, held on 25 September at the German International School Abu Dhabi.
The event brought together representatives from more than 20 European countries and offered the visitors an opportunity to explore Europe’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
At the Bulgaria stand the guests of all ages discovered the Cyrillic alphabet and the history of the Bulgarian language.

Bulgarian Ambassador Ivan Jordanov visits IDEX 2025
Ambassador Ivan Jordanov and the Head of the Economic and Commercial Section in Dubai Valentin Stoev visited on 17th February the Bulgarian companies at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2025) in Abu Dhabi. They discussed with the representatives of the Bulgarian business the necessity to use the export opportunities on the GCC countries’ markets.

Bulgarian Ambassador meets the UAE Air Force and Air Defence Commander
Ambassador Ivan Jordanov met on 17th December 2024 the UAE Air Force and Air Defence Commander HE Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al – Alawi and presented him with the dagger of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev for his contribution to the development of the relations between the armed forces of both countries.
Ambassador Jordanov and Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al – Alawi discussed a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by senior officers and officials of the Ministry of Defence of the UAE.

Commissioning of a new version of the National Visa Information System
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of implementing a large-scale project, coordinated in advance with all responsible institutions in Bulgaria and the EU, including the implementation and launch of a new version of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).
