On 10 May 2021, in the Palais des Nationes in Geneva, the President of the Conference on Disarmament, Ambassador Yuri Sterk, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, received Stuart Harold Comberbach, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Zimbabwe who submitted his letters of credence to the Conference on Disarmament.

In the discussion that followed, Ambassador Sterk introduced his interlocutor to the efforts for adopting a programme of work for the Conference in 2021 as well as to the rational for the decision of the Bulgarian Presidency towards shifting to thematic debates.

Subject of discussion were the Covid-19 impact on the international cooperation environment as well as issues on the agenda of the World Health Organization, UNCTAD and other international organizations.
