A speech at the opening was given by the Bulgarian ambassador to Warsaw, Emil Yalnazov. Such a plaque has been present on the fence of the Polish embassy in Sofia for quite some time now.

Later on, at the Embassy at a cocktail in a warm and intimate atmosphere, exciting memories were shared about the three worthy Bulgarians of their descendants and friends, among them Mr. Antoni Puchlev, Mrs. Martha Kosetskaya, Mrs. Alina Petrova, Mrs. Barbara Rogalska, Mr. Bojidar Slavov, Mrs. Galya Konah, Mr. Ivancho Galabov.

The purpose of the Memorial Plaque project, implemented by the Embassy in the last year with funds under the Communication Strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is to preserve for the present and future generations the historical memory of the uniquely intertwined personal destinies of Bulgarians and Poles, against the backdrop of the dramatic events during the Second world war and in the post-war period. The attending guests praised the initiative of the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing their willingness to cooperate in realizing other similar projects aimed at preserving and disseminating the historical memory connecting Bulgaria and Poland.
