On the 14th of February, a kick-off meeting was held at the VNO-NCW headquarter in the Hague in reference to the upcoming business delegation to Bulgaria and Romania which will host B2B meetings in Sofia on 16-17 April this year.

Ambassador Rumen Alexandrov greeted the big interest of Dutch companies towards doing business in Bulgaria and during his address pinpointed some of the major incentives for investment in Bulgaria, such as the favourable and stable economic climate and the advantages of sectors of mutual interest, such as IT, BPO, machine industry and agriculture.

The meeting was opened with remarks by Mr. J. de Boer, President of VNO-NCW and head of the delegation, who focused on the great potential for partnerships between Dutch business, on one side, and Bulgarian and Romanian partners on the other, given the large number of Dutch investments and the growing trade. Representatives of the Dutch Embassies in Sofia and Bucharest, diplomats, RVO and business representatives also took part in the meeting.

The event was concluded with Q&A session, during which Dutch companies that are already operating in Bulgaria and Romania were able to share their experiences and give the participants tips on how to do business in the region.
